Kihon Architecture approached us as an emerging interior architecture practice with a clear and meaningful purpose — to champion sustainable design and low-impact solutions in the built environment. As a newly established business, their team was seeking more than just visual identity; they needed foundational support to help shape a resilient and distinctive presence in a competitive industry.

The brief was to support Kihon in defining their voice, values, and design direction, while ensuring these principles translated seamlessly across their brand and client touchpoints. With a strong ethos grounded in sustainability, craft, and simplicity, our role was to help bring clarity and structure to their ambitions — creating a cohesive narrative that would resonate with environmentally conscious clients and collaborators.

We worked closely with the founders to craft a brand and positioning strategy that aligned with their design philosophy — drawing on the Japanese concept of 'kihon' meaning 'foundation' or 'fundamentals.' This concept echoed throughout our collaboration, from their identity and tone of voice to their service offering and project documentation. Together, we developed tools and systems to support their long-term growth, ensuring that every element of their business was built to evolve, adapt, and stand the test of time.
